You need to progress further in the game in order to unlock new areas. Just follow the storyline, complete more missions and do the tasks your friends give you so all the locations will eventually become available!
Be advised that some areas only get unlocked once you have reached a certain level. Besides completing quests, you can also shoot movies, work in the Harlem Restaurant, search for collectibles or date somebody in the karaoke bar in order to gain experience and level up.
